Description Philippe Didier 2026-01-16 15:47:24 CET
Description of problem:
I have tested Mageia10 alpha1 plasma (usbstick with persistent partition)
Everything went well : everything is recognized and usable

But after this first launch

1)
when I try to quit Mageia with the stop button of the Mageia menu
and confirm with the stop button appearing in the middle of the screen

Nothing happens except a totally grey screen
I try ctrl + alt + del
that brings again the stop button in the middle of the grey screen ... I click on it nothing happens except a totally grey screen

After having waited some minutes I need to manually stop the computer when the live plasma alpha1 is used for the first time...

To conclude this part : the stop button doesn't stop Mageia and don't stop the computer

2)
After a second Launch
If I boot again from the usb stick, after having applied modification and updated everything (1112 rpms to download and install !!!) it starts quickly with the modifications applied with plasma System settings and CCM
The window of plasma System settings has now a x cross button and I can quit it normally

Mageia10 can be stopped with the stop button when the Mageia Live plasma alpha1
is used for the second time (all the previous settings are preserved in the persistent partition)

But this stop button doesn't stop the computer as it should : the computer starts again booting the Live USB stick (or from Mageia9 installed on the internal drive if I have removed the USB stick
I need to manually stop the computer

Comment 2 Philippe Didier 2026-01-17 14:20:45 CET
To be clearer in the part 2) of my last comment

What I meant about the stop button after a second boot of the modified USB stick
The stop button
- allows to quit Mageia10 (OK)
- but doesn't apply "power off" to the computer (not good since the computer boots again after Mageia10 has stopped : boots from the USB stick if it has not been removed or boots from the computer HDD if the USB stick has been removed)

Comment 3 Philippe Didier 2026-02-17 17:52:02 CET
Last news :
All these problems was induced by the presence of a persistent partition !!!
The test is OK with an USB pendrive having no persistent partition

That was discovered when testing several Beta Live Plama ISO... and confirmed here
