DVD beta4 propose second media as ftp or fttp. but an error occur : "basesystem package not selected" With beta4 "dual" CD, media FTP work very well.
That is very laboured : - 269 packages - the net - choose mirror - chose media ( tainted, non free...) - wait for installed packages - wait for a new window - chose packages ... and then ...error

please rerun it. Once you hit the error, plug an USB key, go to the second console and run the "bug" command. Then attach the report.bug.xz found on that key to this bug report

OK there're two solutions
Created attachment 3838 [details] 1) check if basesystem is already installed
Created attachment 3839 [details] 2) install basesystem-minimal instead of basesystem for network setup
Could you test either one?

Hi, I can't do this at the moment as I can't (don't know how to) place patch-oem.pl on the install media. I am using a USB with the image written using the dd command. Looks like the system is seeing the USB as a CD thus not allowing writing to it or changing permissions to read-write
(In reply to Anne Nicolas from comment #4) > decreasing while we do not have other report on that one now we have, so setting it back, (only so it's not forgotten)

I would like to try those patches too since I also experience this on DVD 32-bit RC dd-ed to USB. Unfortunately I also didn't manage to write them to USB. Can you give me a hint how to overcome that?

That cannot be release critical, installed system will works find w/o adding other media during installation.

True about adding other media. But what about missing basesystem during installation?
basesystem isn't missing. It has already been installed hence this error.
(In reply to Filip Komar from comment #17) just put one at a time on a USB key as a file named either "patch" or "patch.pl" (any would work), then start the install by typing "linux patch" at the boot CD prompt
Patch #1 works here. name used: patch
Just one error to note. At end of the install, before adding users, I get the following message: An error occurred ERROR: 'script' failed for lib64gtk+3_0-3.6.4-1.mga3.x86_64: The install completed OK and the package above is actually installed. Peace.
That error is unrelated. What about patch #2?

Hi, Patch #2 failed Same error as the original poster
Could you attach the /root/drakx/report.bug.xz with that patch? It's the less intrusive, I fear side effects with the first one.

Actually, patch #2 does work. re-checking the scripts I'd copied the wrong text for patch #2 What I had copied looked like actual patch text. Can confirm patch #2 is working - testing install now.
Fixed in SVN
