Description of problem: doing text installs, and choosing yes for updating, it's adding media, and then nothing seems to happen (see screenshot) Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 201 [details] test install after updates
looking with "ps" it seems "urpmi --auto-select --update" is running...
looking with ifconfig , it seems that nothing is being transferred over network...
it seems it passes on it's own (nothing updated atm), but then that is possible. i wonder why it took like 15min
text installer is low priority

@ AL13N Was this still an issue with Mageia 1 or 1 rc?

likely, afaik nothing happened since mageia startup with text installer as it's low priority. thinking about this now, i think it's likely that it's the same issue as with the graphical, maybe it's a wrong network setup or whatever, but it doesn't fail, it just silently continues. why it hangs for 15min, perhaps it's some sort of network timeouts. the problem here is that it should give a message so that i know something is wrong and i can retry or abort or something.
Same as bug 646, assigning to maintainer

Pinging, because nothing has happened with this report for more than 3 months, it still has the status NEW or REOPENED.
(the priority is in the low state)
it seems now the text installer seems to sort of work, it does give some warnings about updates not working, but maybe that's because the cauldron core/updates isn't doing anything. the user and password dialog, does give issues with backspace and the display of typed characters, but that's maybe bug 4894
Severity: critical => major
Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja
resolving as old, we'll see if i or anyone else reopens when/if we ever check text installer again...
