Description of problem: âHardware detected: NV5M64 [RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro] âModule installed by default: Card: NVIDIA RIVA TNT to GeForce 2 But it gives a black screen, the keyboard is completely dead and only a hard reset can go out from this state. In drakx11, The test of the video locks and never come back to the previous state after the time-out. I have tried other drivers: Nouveau cannot work, only nv works.

Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja

I have the same problem on my system. my card is "GeForce 6800 GTO". I also had to change to nv driver and blacklist the nouveau driver. I had to run "dracut --force" to get a display of any kind. Thank God for Secure SHell. ;-)=

Look at MCC -> set up the graphical server -> options -> Enable Translucency (Composite extention). Uncheck it. The option only appears for drivers that support it; nVidia, nouveau, don't know about nv, not VESA.
