Description of problem: I experience several issues with release-candidate1: 1. freeze (stop booting) after first boot-step (I dont have any logs) 2. boot works if I disable ACPI. GUI does not start. (see Xorg.0.logbackup). startx does not work. 3. if I switch to console, start drakx11 and select generic-VESA-display driver, then startx works. 4. fan is very loud and notebook gets extremly hot. cpu- and disk-usage is normal low. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): I tried: kde-live-cd mageia-2-rc, other current distros are fine. Mageia 1 runs perfect. How reproducible: Samsung x20 with i915, 32bit. Steps to Reproduce: every time I boot. 1. start kde-live-cd mageia 2 rc on my laptop

Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja
Yes, all mentioned problems still exist with Mageia2. The heat and fan is still the biggest blocker. I dont know where the heat comes from.
