Description Filipe Saraiva 2011-10-30 17:37:06 CET
I updated my Mageia Cauldron and now can not start the OS. The final message during boot is:

Activating compat-mode for non-LSB script jetty

So, I change to other terminal (Ctrl + Alt + F1, for example), I login, and run startx.

In KDE plasma workspace, I go to drakconf and see that all the services (alsa, network, sshd, httpd, etc) are stopped.

I do not know much about systemd, but if you tell me which backtracks you want, I can provide. Thank you.

You can see other bugs related to systemd here:
https://bugs.mageia.org/showdependencytree.cgi?id=2120&hide_resolved=1

For me it's a duplicate.

I don't know if it is duplicated, because I no finded some other bug similar to it.
Comment 3 Filipe Saraiva 2011-10-31 00:31:53 CET
I talked with dmorgan and coling in #mageia-dev on IRC, and we did discovered that the problem is with systemd-sysvinit, that no installed automatically.

For now, to fix this problem is necessary uninstall sysvinit and install systemd-sysvinit manually. Type:

# rpm -e --nodeps sysvinit
# urpmi systemd-sysvinit

After, this script will be added in some package (I think :-)

What is fixed exactly, and in which version of which package? httpd still doesn't start automatically despite that's how it's configured.
Comment 6 D Morgan 2011-10-31 21:35:09 CET
you retried to install ? because iirc this is only fixed if you reinstall.

If still not please reopen this bugreport

Reinstall systemd? or httpd? I don't want to reinstall each service I have in Cauldron. :)

(why is the status on unconfirmed ? it should be on reopen )
Comment 10 Frédéric "LpSolit" Buclin 2011-11-22 16:19:32 CET
Note that there is no UNCONFIRMED -> NEW transition. A Bugzilla admin should fix that (Administration > Status Workflow).
Comment 11 D Morgan 2011-11-22 17:58:13 CET
for comment #10 this should be OK now.
Comment 12 Frédéric "LpSolit" Buclin 2011-11-22 18:08:16 CET

I suppose you ask both Filipe & Frédéric to test.
