Description of problem: If you change the welcome screen for plasma you can swicth back to mageia splash. even if you make a preview you get the one for breeze theme this is due a combination of configurations in metadata.json and maybe metadata.desktop The metadata.json line 66 have "Id": "org.kde.mageia.breeze.desktop" the righ one is "Id": "org.mageia.breeze.desktop" The file metadata.desktop line 136 have X-KDE-fallbackPackage=org.kde.breeze.desktop That maybe is not a mistake but i think is why you get the breeze splash preview Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Systemsettings -> Boot and shutdown ?(i'm write from spanish system) ->Welcome screen 2. Change to other welcome screen 3. Try to preview the mageia screen 4. Get a preview of breeze screen 5. Switch back to mageia screen 6. Close session 7. Start session again 8. You get the breeze welcome screen As workarround edit ~/.config/ksplashrc Change org.kde.mageia.breeze.desktop by org.mageia.breeze.desktop, close session and start again you get the mageia's welcome screen Files affected are in /usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/org.mageia.breeze.desktop

Original title: Bad config in metadata.json (& metadata.desktop?) make you can't switch back to mageia kde's splash I wondered whether this bug is a duplicate of something similar, but cannot find another nearer than the 2 bugs noted 'see also'. Assigning to the KDE team.

This bug looks like a duplicate of bug#28597

MGA8-64 Plasma on Lenovo B50 Installed OK: Did the following: system settings startup and shutdown welcome screen select and apply Breeze screen (SDDM) entering root password select and apply Mageia screen. Logout session and login the same user. Mageia screen is shown So update is OK for me. Test from someone else to confirm this???

Before the update, my HP Pavilion 15 MGA8 install did not show the issue, but I did not follow the procedure, exactly. I used systemsettings to chanege the splash screen, then rebooted to see if that had been done. Then I changed it back, successfully, and rebooted again with the Mageia screen. No installation issues with the update. Tested again, as before, still successful. After re-reading comment 0, I tried changing the screen and putting it back without rebooting, and it still worked. OKing and validating.
