Description of problem: Its hard to describe it in one line.. I attempted to upgrade from Mandriva 2010.2 x86_64 to Mageia 1 x86_64 using the DVD. It failed with low disk space in root partition. DVD exited normally and I rebooted. Mandriva Update reported lots of updates available but asked for the Mageia CD (CD not DVD). I have since repartitioned to create extra space to do the upgrade, which I need complete tomorrow. The failed Mageia installation had not removed its repo's from the Mandriva installation. All repo's appeared to be left behind - core, tainted etc - not just the dvd. It was necessary to remove all repo's and allow Mandriva to add its own again. Mandriva now reports no updates available. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: I am unable to reproduce currently as I have created the extra space to do the upgrade. It could be tested in a VM after the upgrade though. Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
I think the main point is it shouldn't fail because of a lack of space, or at least give a warning before migrating "available space is low, upgrade may fail. It is advised to add more space before continuing".
