I wanted to upgrade from Mandriva 2010.2 installed on my netbook, i have two scenarious: - from SSD (about 6GB) - from externa USB disk (about 40Gb) with default partition installation (/ about 8GB) Since we're in rc, i chose second one for the moment. Upgrade failed because of disk space. Message reports required 1319MB and have 746MB. I believe that is a big problem for those who chose default partition mandriva installation and add a lot of programs. df File system Dim. Usati Disp. Uso% Montato su /dev/sdb1 7,7G 5,9G 1,5G 81% / /dev/sdb6 26G 19G 6,9G 73% /home [root@netcook angelo]# rpm -qa | wc -l 1996
i had a vbox install of mandriva 2010.1 which i had upgraded with alpha; which had some issues. i had cloned it and retried installation with beta2 and i was too short on disk space too (similar values even) vbox install by default disk of 8GB, i guess the beta had alot more updates than the alpha...

How did you performed the upgrade? Through urpmi or through the installer?

Thierry (comment #3) both, i failed net install booting from usb key first and i tried to install via urpmi changing install media mirrors after.
first with DVD then tried mgaonline and then urpmi then doing part of it, and after it became a mess... :-S
OK, I just found a bug in the way urpmi was checking available space (bug introduced two years ago...) I'll release a new urpmi soon, then rebuild the Cauldron's installer with it
