Quite a lot of bugs (some i have experienced) have been fixed during the soon half year since the version we have packaged in mga6. https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing/releases I can test if put in mga6 testing 64 bit.

It would have to be done for cauldron first, but can then be put in 6/updates_testing, too, if no new features were introduced but only bugs were fixed. Else a new version would have to go into backports_testing and the bug fixes be cherry-picked to be added in a new release of the current version for updates_testing Assigning to the registered syncthing maintainer.

This is mainly (about 90%) fixing of many bugs. (see link i gave) Rest is small enhancements, no particular new feature. Issues like i renamed a folder, and syncthing deleted it (thankfully it ended up in the configured backup)... Really such bugfixes should go out to our users. I currently do not run any Cauldron.
There is one possible packaging bug: Bug 18744 - syncthing service fails after suspend
There is even a security issue with the old version we have. Closing this bug in favour for that bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 22405 ***
