When I plug my android phone in via USB, it is correctly detected as a MTP device. But If I try to browse it in dolphin, I get this error message : "Aucun stockage trouvé. Vérifiez que votre périphérique est déverrouillé et qu'il prend en charge MTP dans ses paramètres de connexion USB." (which means "No storage found. Check that your device is unlocked and that it handles MTP in its USB connexion parameters."). journalctl shows the following logs: juin 15 14:20:37 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: Slave started juin 15 14:20:37 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: new device, getting raw devices juin 15 14:20:37 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: No Error, continuing juin 15 14:20:37 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: Found device matching the Solid description juin 15 14:20:37 localhost kernel: usb 1-1.6: usbfs: process 3099 (mtp.so) did not claim interface 0 before use juin 15 14:20:37 localhost kernel: usb 1-1.6: reset high-speed USB device number 7 using ehci-pci juin 15 14:20:37 localhost kernel: usb 1-1.6: usbfs: process 3099 (mtp.so) did not claim interface 0 before use juin 15 14:20:37 localhost kernel: usb 1-1.6: reset high-speed USB device number 7 using ehci-pci juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: Created device "FP2" with udi= "/org/kde/solid/udev/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb1/1-1/1-1.6" and timeout 60000 juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: Caches created juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: "udi=/org/kde/solid/udev/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb1/1-1/1-1.6" juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: QUrl("mtp:udi=/org/kde/solid/udev/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb1/1-1/1-1.6") juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: udi = "/org/kde/solid/udev/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb1/1-1/1-1.6" juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: "/FP2" juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: QUrl("mtp:/FP2") juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: "/FP2" 1 juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: reopen mtpdevice if we have no storage found juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kernel: usb 1-1.6: reset high-speed USB device number 7 using ehci-pci juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: returning LIBMTP_mtpdevice_t juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: [ENTER] false juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: [EXIT] 0 juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: [ENTER] false juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: [EXIT] 0 juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kde.kio-mtp: Listing storages for device "FP2" juin 15 14:20:38 localhost kdeinit5[3099]: kf5.kio.core: listDir() did not call finished() or error()! If you open the screen and click to browse the device, does it still say the same? I have to open the screen lock for the device to be browsable.

I didn't seem to have MTPFS installed. After installing it, when I plug my phone into the computer and having it unlocked, it opened the phone in Dolphin and does show the files.

@Stormi Stephen mentions that mtpfs needs to be installed for this to work in Dolphin. Do you have mtpfs installed? If not, does installing it fix the problem?

We have some similar bugs on connection problem between phone and Mageia, especially(?) Plasma. I post here links between the bugs so you with similar problem can browse around. Maybe some can be duplicate, some resolved old, some get updated with more input. Bug 7638 - Better MTP device support / add jmtpfs in mageia repositories (spec file and udev rules+scripts provided) Bug 18454 - Drag and drop between dolphin windows on Mageia and (USB mounted) Android file-systems fails

kio-mtp used mtpfs, which only works for some phones. Surprisingly, Juergen reported in Bug 18454 that Thunar in XFCE was able to do MTP just fine when Dolphin couldn't. I wasn't aware that we had anything packaged that worked for problematic phones. That warrants further investigation.
And now Juergen has reported in Bug 28027 that it actually *doesn't* work in Thunar. That makes more sense. Closing this as a duplicate of Bug 7638. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 7638 ***
