Description Lee Miller 2013-05-17 02:06:54 CEST
The Summary says it all, but to repeat/elaborate:

I installed Mageia 3 RC x86_64 (clean install, not updgrade) on 3 May; and all has been running brilliantly well (it's totally stable); but looking at the Hardware Section of the MCC, my Crucial Ballistix 8 (2 x 4) GB of DDR3-1600 DRAM do not show in the list of hardware. The only thing that shows in that section is the L1, L2, and L3 CPU cache memory. There aren't any operational problems, it's just a lack of info problem in the MCC Hardware section. This may be a KDE bug, but I thought I'd post here first.

All of my Mageia 3 RC software is being auto-updated regularly; and currently,
KDE 4.10.2-3 is the installed version with a kernel of 3.8.13.-1.

Is this a bug or what?

This is a Mageia 4 update:

Cheers, Thierry.

Sorry to report that this remains an issue in Mageia 4.0 (Harddrake>Memory doesn't report on installed DRAM, only all 3 levels of CPU cache memory).

My Mageia 4 installation was a clean install with the reformatting of the entire storage drive prior to installation, so there wasn't any "residual" Mageia 3 data.

These are the current versions of my installation (all x86_64):
Kernel: 3.12.13-2.mga4
Harddrake: 16.26.8-1.mga4
Harddrake UI: 16.26.8-1.mga4
KDE: 4.11.4-1.mga4

It shouldn't matter, but just in case:
MB: ASRock 990FX Extreme9 AM3+
DRAM: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8 GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 1.35V 9-9-9-24
CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz AM3+ 95W 6-core

Nothing is overclocked, and all components are running at stock timing and stock voltages.

Please let me know if I can provide any additional info.
