Description claire robinson 2013-04-24 13:36:27 CEST
This seems to affect installs from all 3RC isos.

After reboot it appears at the top of the screen and seems to occur before switching root. I can't find any info in logs.

It doesn't impede the boot process.

On my Dell Dimension 4400 the boot halts completly when the message "Floiting point exception" occurs.

It don´t matter if I do the Boot in Fail safe mode.

You should be able to boot with older kernel.
Comment 4 Barry Jackson 2013-04-25 10:20:59 CEST
This started *after* kernel-desktop-3.8.5-1.mga3-1-1.mga3 which does not show the error.

I see this error with all later kernels (the next I have available to test is 3.8.7-1).

Here it has never stalled the boot.

This is not a fresh install from RC - it's my regularly updated x86_64 Cauldron desktop.

This isn't actually solved yet afaik but it's marked as a dup of a closed bug so reopening until it's tested.
