Description Frank Griffin 2013-03-19 15:28:34 CET
A minor thing, but it seems that *secure* mode disables CONFIG_MAGIC_SYSRQ (understandable, for a machine not physically secured).

However, msec has no toggle for it that I can find. It probably should, as SYSRQ is a longstanding and well-known feature, and simply turning it off without an obvious control is going to confuse people who are setting up a secure server and expect it to be there.

Of course, there's the /proc control, but that isn't going to be obvious to someone who uses the msec GUI instead of the console. Since there's no error message when SYSRQ is disabled, users are likely to suspect anything from faulty recollection of the codes to broken keyboards.

Sorry, but this bug saw no action since over 2 yrs ago.
No cauldron package has stayed the same since then.

Closing as OLD

Please reopen if this report is still valid for _current_ cauldron and/or fully
updated Mageia 4
