I've tried a ground up install of cauldron for two days in a row and failure mode has been the same for both days. Attached is the /root/drakx directory. My local repo is up to date from mirrors.kernel.org This is a 32-bit KDE install

Could also not install Cauldron via the x86_64 boot.iso (have updated the architecture above). Concretely, I chose "Other desktops" for Xfce. Then when the main installation began immediately after the desktop/software selection part, the progress bar appeared for a minute or so before the panel went totally blank. Hours later, the situation had not changed. I tried this twice today on a German mirror and a Dutch mirror.

Wrong package. update-alternatives just lacks a requires on perl-base... Which should(?) have been automatic?

Fixed.

(In reply to comment #5) > Fixed. I should be able to confirm this by Tue, California time. That will give enough time for update(s) in the repo to reach my local repo. Thanks Thierry.
Fixed confirmed here.
