After an install using either Mageia 3 beta 1 pre-release dvd iso images, where the default of using nonfree media is left selected, after the installation, /etc/urpmi/urpmi.cfg does not have nonfree selected. Also, the wording on the select media screen is incorrect, since you can't enable media there, just disable it. Probably shouldn't be able to unselect core, though I didn't check to see if it really does disable it.

Created attachment 3232 [details] urpmi.cfg after install using Mageia 3 beta 1 As shown by the attached urpmi.cfg, the nonfree from the dvd is enabled, but the nonfree and nonfree_updates from the mirror are not enabled.

Indeed to be more precise, nonfree media is activated in urpmi.cfg for local media but not for remote media added at the end of installation, which is an older bug (or feature)
I guess this should also apply to the live isos which all have nonfree and add medias on install.

I just used MCC on a 64-bit install, not urpmi.cfg, but when I went to add more media, core was checked but non-free wasn't, although I selected non-free during installation.

Created attachment 3625 [details] Enable nonfree media if nonfree media has been used during install This proposed patch uses the subroutine in attachment 3622 [details] to enable Nonfree/Tainted media before applying updates at the end of installation/upgrade but only if Nonfree or Tainted Media have been used during DVD or network install/upgrade.

Setting release blocker as this causes alot of problems for users when there are kernel updates.

After a network (boot.iso) install on may 6, selecting all available media in beginning of install, I now have all: $ urpmq --list-media active Core Release Core Updates Nonfree Release Nonfree Updates Tainted Release Tainted Updates Core 32bit Release Core 32bit Updates

Is this fixed in Final first builds?

Also note that if the dvd is used for an upgrade, Nonfree and Tainted should be kept enabled, if they were enabled before the upgrade. Currently, they are not being enabled.
Just fixed
