Description of problem: My systems have those ATI cards needing radeon_firmware installed before you can have X server video after the typical dvd install. None power users will bad-mouth Mageia and throw the distribution in the bit bucket because of that problem. Any press reviews will dissuade usage because of that. :( I suggest when the installer warns the user about getting the firmware after reboot, it sets the Video Server to xorg vesa. That has been working pretty good for me. Other option is to tell user to set it themselves. I did install the firmware but XFdrake complained about screen size and did not complete the xorg changes when trying to set my ATI card. Probably caused when I had set 1280x1024 during install. If nothing else Mageia 3 errata needs video section copied from 2's errata. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: Clean install of Mageia-3-alpha3-x86_64-DVD.iso. Package Group Selection has all package groups selected except LSB and Other Graphical Desktops. Default runlevel: 3, Reboot 1. startx Note X server failure.

Should be fixed in the beta (or in netinstall for rest, duplicate of another bug ? like https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5426 ?
