Description Joe Shmoe 2012-09-13 00:05:36 CEST
Whenever I try to change an option in the networkmanager applet, the changes are silently ignored.

I tried to change:

1. Check "Enable Networking" (not greyed out; was unchecked) in context menu. Check mark does not appear; no feedback at all.

2. Delete the one (wired) connection that exists. Confirm that I'm sure. Connection remains; no further feedback.

3. Try to uncheck "connect automatically". The check mark disappears, but when I click "save", the whole dialog box "Editing <connectionname>" becomes greyed out and cannot be closed. It only disappears when I close the main window. Going back to the edit dialog, the option is checked again.

On my system, bug 7317 is present as well, but the above also happens while the connection is working fine.

This is in LXDE, in a 3alpha1 i586 network installation on an old Centrino laptop.

When setting up the network interface using Mageia Control Center, make sure that the check boxes "Allow users to manage the connection" and "Allow interface to be controlled by Network Manager" are ticked.

Then, if still no luck, you might want to try the workaround described at Comment 8 in Bug 6936.

This fixed it. Thanks! polkit-0.107-1, btw.
