Description of problem: hi, i have an HP laserjet 1028 and Mageia 2 i586 with KDE. I'm forced to use foomatic drivers instead of proprietary ones because it's impossible to install the firmware for the printer. hp-setup downloads the firmware only in root mode, but when i enter as a normal user the firmware results uninstalled and a pop-up is prompted to install it for the user (and the download fails). @ Marcello Are you sure it didn't install at all as root, or did it install, but was it just unusable? Is your issue the same as bug 5395?
