Description claire robinson 2012-05-16 20:25:30 CEST
Failed before it started installing packages

An error occurred
rpm's sorted by dependencies
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4147101/Final/DSC01054.JPG

clicking ok gives transaction too small
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4147101/Final/DSC01055.JPG

then conflicts openssl-devel i586.mga1 with x86_64.mga2
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4147101/Final/DSC01056.JPG

I don't know why openssl-devel i586 and x86_64 are both installed in mga1

# rpm -qa | grep openssl
lib64openssl-engines1.0.0-1.0.0d-2.5.mga1
libopenssl-devel-1.0.0d-2.5.mga1

Comment 1 claire robinson 2012-05-16 20:29:43 CEST
# urpme libopenssl-devel-1.0.0d
To satisfy dependencies, the following 2 packages will be removed (11MB):
  libmysql-devel-5.5.23-1.mga1.i586
   (due to missing devel(libcrypto),
    due to missing devel(libssl))
  libopenssl-devel-1.0.0d-2.5.mga1.i586
Remove 2 packages? (y/N) y

It seems it was installed by mysql-devel which was installed from Mageia 1 DVD 64

I'll attempt upgrade again with it removed.
Comment 2 claire robinson 2012-05-16 20:35:24 CEST
With it removed it still gives the first two errors upgrading

rpms listed by dependencies

and

transaction too small

(see comment 0)

but the installation continues.

I'll try to get a report.bug to attach when it has done.
Comment 3 claire robinson 2012-05-16 23:07:56 CEST
The installation reached a point where it had 20 seconds left.

At that point it sat thrashing the disk for almost an hour!

I came back to it just now to find it had completed whatever it was doing and the installation has completed.

I'll attach a report.bug.gz

Updates available after upgrade again with only the dvd as media. There are missing dependencies by the looks of it. It can't find 'core media' on sr0 as that is an audio cd, core media is on a usb stick which isn't yet mounted.

# urpmi --auto-update --test
mount: can't find in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
failed to mount /org/freedesktop/UDisks/devices/sr0: org.freedesktop.UDisks.Error.FilesystemDriverMissing: Error mounting: mount: block device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: /dev/sr0: can't read superblock

unable to access medium "core media".
In order to satisfy the 'windowmaker-desktop[== 0.95.3]' dependency, one of the following packages is needed:
1- mageia-windowmaker-desktop-0.95.3-0.s20120330.6.mga2.x86_64: Mageia Window Maker desktop (to install)
2- default-windowmaker-desktop-0.95.3-0.s20120330.2.mga2.x86_64: Default Window Maker desktop (to install)
What is your choice? (1-2) 1
Some requested packages cannot be installed:
mageia-windowmaker-desktop-0.95.3-0.s20120330.6.mga2.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied wmsystemtray)
mysql-connector-java-5.1.18-1.mga2.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied java-gcj-compat[*][>= 1.0.31])
Continue installation anyway? (Y/n) y
To satisfy dependencies, the following package is going to be installed:
(test only, installation will not be actually done)
  Package Version Release Arch
(medium "core media")
  qt4-doc 4.8.1 2.mga2 noarch
41MB of additional disk space will be used.
129MB of packages will be retrieved.
Proceed with the installation of one package? (Y/n) y
Comment 6 Manuel Hiebel 2012-05-17 01:24:52 CEST
for comment 5, resolved with bug 5923

and I see only:

* ERROR: selection failed: guile1.8-1.8.8-11.mga2.x86_64 (due to conflicts with guile-2.0.5-4.mga2.x86_64)
lib64cairo-devel-1.10.2-6.mga2.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied devel(libdirectfb-1.5(64bit)), due to unsatisfied pkgconfig(directfb), due to unsatisfied devel(libpixman-1(64bit)), due to unsatisfied devel(libdirect-1.5(64bit)))
lib64cairo-xcb-devel-1.10.2-6.mga2.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied lib64cairo-xcb2[== 1.10.2], due to unsatisfied devel(libpixman-1(64bit)))
lib64cairo-xcb2-1.10.2-6.mga2.x86_64 (due to conflicts with lib64cairo2-1.10.2-6.mga2.x86_64, trying to promote pkgconfig(cairo-svg))
mageia-windowmaker-desktop-0.95.3-0.s20120330.6.mga2.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied gvolwheel, due to unsatisfied windowmaker-theme-mageia, due to unsatisfied wmudmount, due to unsatisfied networkmanager-applet, due to unsatisfied wmsystemtray, due to unsatisfied wmcalclock)

so guile was reported, windowmaker too, and for openssl this is not a bug for me.

The long delay is bug 5248.

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Thanks :)

Cheers,
marja

Seems this is a mixture of a duplicate of several bugs and a resolved one so I'll just close it.
