Description Juan Luis Baptiste 2012-04-08 01:42:52 CEST
Description of problem:

Opening some openGL games, like any ioquake3 derived game (urban terror, world of padman, smokin'guns), when running them with a screen resolution different to the desktop's resolution it will result in a black screen. Suspending and resuming the computer will fix the problem. If the game uses the same screen resolution than the desktop this won't happen.

I'm not sure if this only happens with these games, I managed to do it too once with krandrtray while testing this.

This is my video card:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core
Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA
controller])

How reproducible:

always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install one of the aforementioned games
2. run the game
3. exit the game
4. See the black screen
5. Suspend and resume the computer to get video back

I think I wasn't clear enough: the black screen appears when closing the game, when using a screen resolution different from the desktop resolution. If the resolution of the game is the same of the desktop then problem doesn't happen.

Can you please test if
http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages?view=revision&revision=234487 can save you?
Thanks.

My bad, I didn't remember I had the ATI card configured. I reconfigured with the Intel card and the issue persists. This is the driver version I have installed:

x11-driver-video-intel-2.19.0-1.mga2
libdrm_intel1-2.4.33-1.mga2

Hi,

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.

Thanks :)

Cheers,
marja
