This bug report is being opened to store attachments, and discuss procedures for early testing of updating from Mageia 1 to 2, via mgaapplet. The patches and notes in this bug report are intended for qa team usage only. They should not be used by anyone else, as they will change a Mageia 1 system to a Cauldron system. The bug report will be closed, once the wiki has been updated.
Created attachment 1827 [details] Patch for mgaapplet to trigger upgrade from Mageia 1 to Cauldron Instructions to be added to wiki. For early testing of upgrading from Mageia 1 to Cauldron - Start with a fully up-to-date Mageia 1 system with the patch package installed. - Download the attached patch - As root run "patch -p0 mgaapplet.patch" - As regular user run "killall mgaapplet" followed by "mgaapplet --testing". I'll update the wiki after I retest the procedure, just to be sure it works ok. I've run it once so far, but due to some problems that caused me to change the patch, I'll retest it, starting with a clean Mageia 1 install.
