Description Doug Laidlaw 2012-02-27 10:13:32 CET
Description of problem: When booting into Cauldron, the standard bootup screen appears at first, then disappears. There is a screen like a non-graphical boot. Across it is a white ribbon containing the row of dots only, whichh progress as they should. Eventually, I get a standard KDM login.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: On every bootup.

I don't know if it's related to plymouth or dracut, so adding the two people.

This last bootup was pretty well normal. What is different? There were updates yesterday.

This is a dupe of #4559 I think.

If you have installed a new kernel or manually updated your initrd you'll likely not have a problem.

Even if you've not, it was a somewhat intermittent problem anyway (some boots would still work).

Yes, there has been a new kernel, but a couple of days ago' I think.

I don't agree that it was intermittent. It got there, but not how it should have. Anyway, hopefully that is history.
