Created attachment 1628 [details] window for Advanced Settings, mgaapplet and net_applet SEGV trace, lspcidrake -v How it happens: 1. Use Gnome, Open 'Advanced Settings' (aka Gnome Tweak Tool), select 'Theme' section (as per the attachment). 2. I see a warning triangle next to the 'Shell theme' and when hovering the mouse over it the message shown is "Shell user-theme extension not enabled" (nice to be fixed - loss of functionality not related to the segfault). 3. Change 'GTK+ theme' from 'Adwaita (default)' to 'Oxygen-gtk'. 4. Now change again 'GTK+ theme' from 'Oxygen-gtk' to any other available theme in the list (I've chosen 'Adwaita (default)' for this bug report). 5. Drakbug will catch a segmentation fault for mgaapplet and net_applet. (instead of pressing the 'Report' button I've made a copy-paste of the entire message and attach it here) If I had had similar applications open (ex. Mageia Update) these might have ended with a segfault too. 6. After step 4, the 'GTK+ theme' will not revert cleanly from 'Oxygen-gtk'.

[bogdan@localhost ~]$ rpm -q oxygen-gtk oxygen-gtk-1.2.1-2.mga2 [bogdan@localhost ~]$ (the latest available version on mirrors)

I believe it's a duplicate of bu 4743

Yes, there are many duplicates and it's a known issue. Sorry that I had not carried out sufficient research before submitted this bug report. Maybe you can close both bugs as duplicates of Bug 2679 (which contains more technical details) - your choice ...
indeed let's go, thanks
