Description r howard 2026-01-14 06:49:51 CET
iwconfig and wireless-tools are unsupported upstream. The replacement for iwconfig and most other wireless tools is iw. iw ships with Mageia 9.

HP moved the wireless-tools repository to https://github.com/HewlettPackard/wireless-tools and it has not been updated in 10 years. As of September 2025 it is marked archived. ( By the way the Mageia wireless-tools spec file uses the wrong Url.

Documentation on using iw commands can be found at https://wireless.docs.kernel.org/en/latest/en/users/documentation/iw/replace-iwconfig.html

For compatibility with new devices iw should be used in the Mageia installer.
