Created attachment 15300 [details] What I see (screenshot with Plasma) I cannot reproduce in Mageia 9 on real hardware, but I see it in Mageia 10 alpha 1 in VirtualBox. When trying to resize a window, the mouse pointer change its form, which is expected, but is off by a few millimeters compared to its real position, which makes me crazy when I want to "catch" the border of a window. In the attached screenshot, you see that the pointer is slightly below and to the right of the corner of the window, despite it's supposed to be exactly on the corner of the window. The top left of the pointer is its real position. There is something else which is strange. When I did the screenshot, the screenshot "lied", i.e. it didn't capture what I see. Let me explain it: above, I said that the pointer was a few millimeters away from its real position, but when I ran Spectacle, it captured the mouse pointer exactly were it was supposed to be, i.e. exactly on the corner of the window, despite I see it lower and to the right. So to make this screenshot looks like what I see, I had to move the mouse a bit lower and to the right.

I did some more testing, and I can only reproduce this problem with kernel 6.18.4. The position of the pointer is fine with kernel 6.12.63.

The screenshot seems to show the pointer as you would expect, not what you describe. Never mind. (In reply to Frédéric "LpSolit" Buclin from comment #2) > I did some more testing, and I can only reproduce this problem with kernel > 6.18.4. The position of the pointer is fine with kernel 6.12.63. So it is kernel related. In which case, it is likely to 'go' with more recent kernels.

I hit something similar too. Basically when you run a "konsole" terminal under Plasma and select some line with click & drag, it selects the line above the pointer (which changed to a thin bar, that's normal), instead of the line under the center of the pointer. This happens in virtualbox using "vmware" as xorg.conf's driver Device. Doesn't happen using "modesetting", however with modesetting (or no xorg) the desktop is sluggish, not much usable. It affects also latest 6.18.4-{desktop,server}-3.mga10. Probably an upstream bug in the kernel's vmwgfx driver, or in the x11-driver-video-vmware driver.
s/or no xorg/or no xorg.conf file/

Yes, I see that too.

Still valid with kernel 6.18.16. Affects all DEs, only in VirtualBox, and only in X11 sessions - Wayland sessions are not affected.

I wonder if under VMware player there is the same bug too. Anyone tested?
Fixed with x11-server-21.1.21-12.mga10. Thanks !

Indeed should still be reported in bugzilla.kernel.org, so that the vmware DDX driver would work too.
(In reply to Giuseppe Ghibò from comment #11) > Indeed should still be reported in bugzilla.kernel.org, so that the vmware > DDX driver would work too. I will let you report it to kernel.org. You have much more knowledge than me and your description of the problem will be much more accurate than mine. :)
