Thanks for your work on this. Can we assume they are in nonfree/updates_testing? Assuming 'yes', assigning to QA.

I'm not seeing the dkms packages for this version (570.172.08-2.mga9). Is this correct?

No thanks for spotting the dkms package is there (e.g.: https://distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr/pub/linux/Mageia/distrib/9/x86_64/media/nonfree/updates_testing/dkms-nvidia-current-570.172.08-2.mga9.nonfree.x86_64.rpm I just missed to add dkms-nvidia-current-570.172.08-2.mga9.nonfree.x86_64.rpm to the list.
I tested this driver and it works great. Installed and tested without issue. Tested for about four hours of laptop usage. Tested: - Plasma DE effects; - glxgears (OpenGL); - vkcube (Vulkan); - glmark2; - Firefox plus WegGL examples; All ok. No functionality issues. There was a glmark2 score drop of about a 3% percent, compared to the previous version, but that is probably due to the high ambient temperature. Will retest later in a cooler environment. I then used MCC to install the nvidia-current-cuda-opencl package, and rebooted into an x11 session. Everything looks good - Firefox, vlc, Google Earth Pro. Logged into Wayland and it mostly OK, but with the now typical jerkines and artifacts that seem to plague Plasma-Wayland in Mageia 9 with the nvidia drivers. Not a new regression, so OK here.

Updated my production install on the hardware from comment 9 using drakrpm-update rather than drakx11. No installation issues. Rebooted, used it for a half hour or so, with no issues.
I think this one can go on out. Validating.

Hi all, did anyone confirm whether resume from standby/hibernate works as expected compared to previous version? One user in the forum reported that his screen will not turn back on, and I can confirm that. We both have an RTX 4070.

Suspend (or hibernate) and return from suspend (or hibernate) might fails on some motherboard or some card on NVidia. There is no a common rule that works everywhere, but uncommenting the line: #options nvidia NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations=1 in /etc/nvidia-current/modprobe.conf might help the resume (of course if someone is using manually the -initramfs subpackage for early loading the initrd image should be regenerated with dracut to refresh the internal modprobe .conf file in the initrd image). It's not the default, as sometimes it might have the opposite effect. Another thing that might help in that subject to use the dkms-nvidia-current-open kernel driver, instead of the default one, though sometimes it could be the opposite (i.e. standard modules works, open doesn't or viceversa). Note that the -open driver is not handled "automatically" by drakx11 "out of the box" (at least at the moment).
I didn't think of it, and couldn't do a test if I had. I never use suspend/hibernate on the desktop computer with the Nvidia GPU, and don't have it set up with enough swap space to cover the 48GB of RAM it has.
Referring to the system in comment 8, I forgot the system has modeset disable in a nvidia driver option. $ cat /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-modset-off.conf options nvidia-drm modeset=0 If I remember correctly, I set this because the virtual console was blank. With modeset disable, suspend and resume work without issues. Just out of curiosity, I enabled modeset, rebooted and tried suspending. It suspended but resuming had problems. The screen did not switch on, and there where a bunch of segfaults in the journal (see below). I don't know if this suspend issue is a regression. Still, for those with problems, disabling modeset may be something to try. $ journalctl |grep -P 'jul 29.*segfault' jul 29 09:52:18 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[34280]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f11ca78ec42 sp 00007f11a3ffe578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f11ca000000+c00000] likely on CPU 2 (core 2, socket 0) jul 29 09:52:19 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[34294]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f04f178ec42 sp 00007f04de3fb578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f04f1000000+c00000] likely on CPU 7 (core 1, socket 0) jul 29 09:52:19 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[50451]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f336a78ec42 sp 00007f334ebcf538 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f336a000000+c00000] likely on CPU 3 (core 3, socket 0) jul 29 09:52:20 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[51497]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f332138ec42 sp 00007f32dfffe578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f3320c00000+c00000] likely on CPU 8 (core 2, socket 0) jul 29 09:52:22 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[51553]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f93ae78ec42 sp 00007f938f3a0578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f93ae000000+c00000] likely on CPU 11 (core 5, socket 0) jul 29 09:52:24 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[51610]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f8da678ec42 sp 00007f8d8afcb578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f8da6000000+c00000] likely on CPU 8 (core 2, socket 0) jul 29 09:54:25 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[57025]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f336278ec42 sp 00007f334b7fd578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f3362000000+c00000] likely on CPU 3 (core 3, socket 0) jul 29 09:54:39 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[57018]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f796678ec42 sp 00007f794d101578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f7966000000+c00000] likely on CPU 0 (core 0, socket 0) jul 29 09:54:45 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[58063]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f4dc678ec42 sp 00007f4da7814538 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f4dc6000000+c00000] likely on CPU 4 (core 4, socket 0) jul 29 09:54:46 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[59761]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f1dfdf8ec42 sp 00007f1dd4f66578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f1dfd800000+c00000] likely on CPU 1 (core 1, socket 0) jul 29 09:54:48 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[59819]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f07dd78ec42 sp 00007f07bb7fd578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f07dd000000+c00000] likely on CPU 5 (core 5, socket 0) jul 29 10:19:00 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[4469]: segfault at 0 ip 00007fa0a278ec42 sp 00007fa07f7fd578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7fa0a2000000+c00000] likely on CPU 1 (core 1, socket 0) jul 29 10:19:13 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[35862]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f20ddd8ec42 sp 00007f20c5ce6538 error 6 jul 29 10:19:13 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[4489]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f2e5278ec42 sp 00007f2e3f58c578 error 6 jul 29 10:19:15 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[36739]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f7b9a78ec42 sp 00007f7b5ec72578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f7b9a000000+c00000] likely on CPU 9 (core 3, socket 0) jul 29 10:19:17 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[36796]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f982278ec42 sp 00007f9806454578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f9822000000+c00000] likely on CPU 2 (core 2, socket 0) jul 29 10:19:19 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[36851]: segfault at 0 ip 00007fd3b8f8ec42 sp 00007fd3974a6578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7fd3b8800000+c00000] likely on CPU 0 (core 0, socket 0) jul 29 10:31:00 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[67087]: segfault at 0 ip 00007fcbee58ec42 sp 00007fcbd244a578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7fcbede00000+c00000] likely on CPU 2 (core 2, socket 0) jul 29 10:31:00 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[67092]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f8bf678ec42 sp 00007f8bd7ffe578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f8bf6000000+c00000] likely on CPU 8 (core 2, socket 0) jul 29 10:31:09 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[73790]: segfault at 0 ip 00007fb13678ec42 sp 00007fb117ffe538 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7fb136000000+c00000] likely on CPU 7 (core 1, socket 0) jul 29 10:31:10 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[74761]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f079a78ec42 sp 00007f077af0f578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f079a000000+c00000] likely on CPU 9 (core 3, socket 0) jul 29 10:31:12 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[74820]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f479a78ec42 sp 00007f477d09c578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f479a000000+c00000] likely on CPU 6 (core 0, socket 0) jul 29 10:31:14 saturno kernel: QSGRenderThread[74874]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f567978ec42 sp 00007f56577fd578 error 6 in libnvidia-glcore.so.570.172.08[7f5679000000+c00000] likely on CPU 0 (core 0, socket 0) $ coredumpctl | grep 2025-07-29 Tue 2025-07-29 09:52:19 WEST 34046 1000 1000 SIGSEGV none /usr/bin/plasmashell - There is a new version, 570.172.08-3.mga9.nonfree, which should address latest problems.
From this originated three bugs, i.e. https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34511, https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34512 and https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34514), which are fixed with version 570.172.08-3.mga9.nonfree. How to proceed for pushing it? Reopening this bug?
A new version needs a new bug to track it. This one has already been pushed and the bug closed.
