$ rpm -q ethtool
ethtool-6.3-1.mga9
Ran some status tests and other queries before updating - summary attached.
Updated ethtool and ran some of the earlier tests again.
I am limiting these to enquiries because there is no telling what damage might occur if settings were changed. This is unknown territory.
"netlink error: Operation not supported" was a common output.

$ ethtool --get-plca-status enp0s20f0u1
netlink error: Operation not supported
$ ethtool --show-eee enp0s20f0u1
EEE settings for enp0s20f0u1:
	EEE status: enabled - active
	Tx LPI: disabled
	Supported EEE link modes:  100baseT/Full
	                           1000baseT/Full
	Advertised EEE link modes: Not reported
	Link partner advertised EEE link modes: 100baseT/Full
	                                         1000baseT/Full
$ ethtool -T enp0s20f0u1
Time stamping parameters for enp0s20f0u1:
Capabilities:
	software-receive
	software-system-clock
PTP Hardware Clock: none
Hardware Transmit Timestamp Modes: none
Hardware Receive Filter Modes: none
$ ethtool --driver enp0s20f0u1
driver: r8152
version: v1.12.13
firmware-version: rtl8153a-4 v2 02/07/20
expansion-rom-version:
bus-info: usb-0000:00:14.0-1
supports-statistics: yes
supports-test: no
supports-eeprom-access: no
supports-register-dump: no
supports-priv-flags: no

And so on. There appears to be no difference in the results so on that basis ethtool works as expected for queries but making changes has not been tested.
