See the screenshot. kernel-desktop-6.5.11-3.mga9 doesn't boot. kernel-desktop-6.5.11-1.mga9-1-1.mga9 boots fine. I don't understand why my system now has both kernel-desktop-6.5.11-1.mga9-1-1.mga9 and kernel-desktop-6.5.11-3.mga9 installed. Shouldn't 6.5.11-3 have uninstalled 6.5.11-1 ?

Thank you for reporting, and nice to know 6.5 solves it :) It is possible that also our linus 6.4 may work, but lets be happy with 6.5; We plan to not release another update for 6.4 series, 6.5.11 are in core/updates_testing/ see link in previous comment. Please stay tuned for update bugs to 6.5 series and test and feedback there, and then close this bug if OK. --- (In reply to Frédéric "LpSolit" Buclin from comment #0) > Shouldn't 6.5.11-3 have uninstalled 6.5.11-1 ? Installing a kernel do not automatically uninstall another, regardless of version. We have a tool that removes old kernels: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_9_Release_Notes#remove-old-kernels

6.5.11-desktop-5.mga9 boots fine. Now it would be nice to also update virtualbox so that it works with this version too.

Please install the package dkms (In reply to Frédéric "LpSolit" Buclin from comment #4) > Now it would be nice to also update > virtualbox so that it works with this version too. Install dkms-virtualbox, and it will locally prepare and install the kernel module. It will also check each boot and do it for the booted kernel if not already done. Note that VirtualBox 7.0.12 in updates_testing Bug 32490 have known upstream problems at least with some Microsoft guests.
(In reply to Morgan Leijström from comment #5) > Please install the package dkms Scrap that line, my copy paste mistake. dkms-minimal will be installed as dep.
