Description of problem: In order to avoid system failures, as have been well discussed over the last few years in https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24403 this package should be installed by default by all the installers. I have opened this new bug in order to try to make sure that this happens for Mageia 9. Many testers have this working well and it now has sufficient flexibility to be used by all types of users. By default for the non-tech user it just works from install. Whilst it is not possible to satisfy everyone, I have tried to make this small package flexible enough to cater for all preferences and abilities. You can do this yourself Barry. It doesn't require any change to the installer. Just add remove-old-kernels to rpmsrate.raw in the meta-task package.

Thanks Martin, Yes, I realize that but I don't fully understand the structure there and don't want to do the wrong thing ;) I was expecting some discussion here about whether it should be installed in ALL installs or only in D.E. installs, since it will be enabled by default. I find it useful on servers so for me, ALL would be fine. I will take another look at meta-task over the weekend :)
OK that has been done, although the docs in meta-task need some clarification, as they are impossible to follow. remove-old-kernels is now in CAT_SYSTEM. Whether it needs to be added explicitly to LIVE is unclear as the README says that each package can be included only once, yet some are in twice. Closing as fixed.
