I had already noted this same fault in: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29848#c45 which I have just re-confirmed on x64: ariamaestosa-1.4.13-11.mga8.x86_64 hence widening the hardware platform. $ Aria (thanks Ben for this clue) ... MGA8-64 Plasma on Lenovo B50 on Dutch No installation issues. Aria opes OK, I can select a midi file and select different displays of it (notes, keyboard) but it does not play sound (neither does playmidi). I would have to hunt down the proper packages an configs, but that's beyond the scope of this test; It proves that the problem is gone.

You beat me to it! Thanks. Closing this not expecting it to get further.

Do we need a 32 bit test too?
CC: (none) => fri
Possibly; I do not see it in Ben's 32-bit marathon. We normally allow just x64 test OK; if this falls over (unlikely) x32, that could be a new bug post-push. Most tests - including this one - were x64 only until Ben jumped in.
looks like I have a test to run later tonight!
good to go on this hardware
