Hi, Version 2.0 has been released on December 17. It improves many activities and adds several new ones, some of them corresponding to some activities done at school in CP (six-year-old children in France), for instance, encoding/decoding path. If needed, I can help package that version ;-) Best regards, Nico.

mga8, x64 Installing gcompris-qt-translations pulled in all the other packages. Poked around the web for information. gcompris is a suite of educational games for children covering upwards of a hundred activities located in /use/share/gcompris-qt/rcc (162 here). Find them under the Games tab in the system menus. Looks like the voices are encoded as ogg files. Tried it out and verified language and downloaded voices. The interface works via buttons and is so simple a child could follow it! Updated via qarepo. It all worked as before, sound turned on (using English).

OK on mga8-64, Plasma, Swedish, Nvidia-current, 4k screen. mesa, kernel, wxgtk3.1 and more from testing. - gcompris-qt-2.0-1.mga8.x86_64 - gcompris-qt-activities-2.0-1.mga8.x86_64 - gcompris-qt-translations-2.0-1.mga8.x86_64 - gcompris-qt-voices-2.0-1.mga8.x86_64 Tested OK: § clean update from version 1 § Message on first launch that is is an updated version § Localised (Swedish) messages, texts, voice § Played several parts, not all. Pretty good. Grumpy mode: * not much have changed since version 1, so why the version number doubling...? * slow graphics, as it have always been * some errors in what is taught i.e "energy" instead of "power" in some texts * some details are incorrect or not best explained in experiments. It is a bit of waste of all hours put into programming the experiments to not have the texts (incl translations) verified by physicist(s) (or high school pupil(s)...) Anyways all such problems are upstream
MGA8-64 Plasma on Lenovo B50 in Dutch No installation issues. Works OK. If ever I can resume teaching eldely people (like me) to use the PC, I'll have them exercising this for mouse- and keyboard manipulation.
