Description of problem: I can't reproduce content Netflix, I have activated DRM option, but all remains same. I have tried to download the official Firefox ESR version and here I can see it, so I think that this is other bug again by Mageia Firefox compilation. I have also tried to remove the ".mozilla" folder, and try again. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Firefox ESR 78.9 and Mageia 8 (I think that mageia 7 too). How reproducible: Go to netflix and reproduce some video. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Firefox ESR and activate DRM content in settings. 2. Go to Netflix web. 3. Reproduce some video
Just fyi, netflix works for me using the Mageia version of firefox on both Mageia 7 and 8. Do you have the tainted repos enabled with task-codec-video and task-codec-audio installed?

Created attachment 12630 [details] Netflix and other widevine DRM protected content are OK I am able to play Netflix protected content under Firefox ESR 78.9-1.mga8 version. Tainted repos enabled. Also, there is a toggle settings under Firefox Preferences. See attached toggle screenshot. Sorry for French. Taking this BR. Adding Needinfo status.

Tainted repos enabled as below: Tainted release only enabled option selected. Tainted updates enabled and updated options selected. In Mageia 7 netflix worked but after upgraded to Mageia 8 it is not working. Below codecs always active option selected within Firefox settings: OpenH264 VideoCodec Widevine Content Decyption As commented by Aurelien, Play DRM-controlled content option selected. Thus Firefox 78.9.0esr was downloaded from Official Firefox website and installed in my system, since then Firefox working good and I can reproduce video from netflix. How to check if task-codec-video and task-codec-audio are installed both? (In reply to Joel Martinez from comment #3) > How to check if task-codec-video and task-codec-audio are installed both? $ rpm -q task-codec-video task-codec-audio Another thing to check is whether it works for a new user or not. Use mcc to create a new test user, including that test user's home directory. Log out, log in as the new test user start the Mageia version of firefox, enable the drm, and see if netflix works for that user.

This commentaries remember me the behavior of an old bug https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20617 Can all test in a new profile and after chek the DRM box go to about:addons -> plugins to see if really the widevine plugin is installed

In mine it shows both "OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc." and "Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc." are enabled.

Below the output of command $ rpm -q task-codec-video task-codec-audio: task-codec-video-6-4.mga8.tainted task-codec-audio-6-4.mga8.tainted By the way, I've created another user as requested and I am able to see video in Firefox, then came back to my user and voila, watching Netflix is possible. Please note that I just open Firefox, and not even check plugins installed.
That's strange. Glad it's working now though. Closing as works for me.
