mirrors database should check that the timestamp file on the mirrors has been updated recently, and disable mirrors if the file is not present, or too old. http://mageia.org/pipermail/mageia-sysadm/2011-August/003822.html

Ping ? http://ftp.itb.ac.id/pub/mageia/mageia_timestamp http://mirrors.mageia.org/mirrors/ftp.itb.ac.id
Pinging, because nothing has happened with this report for more than 3 months, it still has the status NEW or REOPENED. @ Olivier Please set status to ASSIGNED. If for work flow reasons you can't do that, then please put OK on the whiteboard instead, unless you want to be pinged by me in this report again ;)

one more ftp://ftp.belnet.be/mirror/mageia/mageia_timestamp PING !!!! the release is tomorrow and we have some dead mirrors in our mirrorlist
Is there any time limit for a mirror to be active or not ? The Greek mirror is inactive and its last rsync was before 10 days: ftp://ftp.cc.uoc.gr/mirrors/linux/mageia/mageia_timestamp In any case, how this works, for example, do i have to find who maintain the mirror and ask him to do the rsync more frequently ?

(In reply to comment #6) > Is there any time limit for a mirror to be active or not ? At the moment it's done manually. > > The Greek mirror is inactive and its last rsync was before 10 days: > ftp://ftp.cc.uoc.gr/mirrors/linux/mageia/mageia_timestamp It should be synchronized at the minimum once a day (but every 2 hours would be better). > > > In any case, how this works, for example, do i have to find who maintain the > mirror and ask him to do the rsync more frequently ? Yes.

This got fixed a long time ago, see: http://mirrors.mageia.org/status However, incidentally a mirror does correctly update the time stamp, but not the rest, so even while an old time stamp certainly means a mirror is lagging behind, an updated timestamp doesn't prove that it's up-to-date. It is merely an indication that it's probably OK.
