Details

Description Morgan Leijström 2020-12-18 02:42:07 CET
Description of problem:
1) Grub install fail. See attached "bug"

2) Rescue mode:
successfully unlocks LUKS, and scans LVM, and writes:

"dmcrypt: found mapper/crypt_sdb8 type with root device sdb8"

Note double space after "type"! And then:

"Could not find your root device :-(."

   Hmph.

Attempted to do conventional install to USB stick.
Installer 8beta2 official, 64 bit, on another USB stick
Machine: Thinkpad T400. No internal disk.

__Advanced partitioning:
Ext4 /boot
FAT12 /boot/EFI
FAT32
LUKS
  LVM
    swap
    F2FS /

Our Diskdrake and installer stumble on our own Mageia Live!

Clearing MBR before install fixes the problem.
