The "drakconf" program crashed. Drakbug-18.21 caught it. Going into "Browse Hardware" asked to install some packages, didn't remember the names, just hit to install them and continue. Hi, thanks catching this. Sadly there is not much details to this oops. Does your system fully updated? Is your network to Internet available while trying installation of required packages? Does this bug always repeat itself each time you click on "Browse Hardware" under MCC?

That last question is important: is the fault 'hard', or a spurious incident? Did it happen immediately after the extra pkgs were installed, or during subsequent use? > Going into "Browse Hardware" asked to install some packages, > didn't remember the names, just hit to install them and continue. If you know *when* this happened, please do: $ rpm -qa --last | less to see a date-ordered list of package updates or installation. That should show what additional packages were installed at that point, which might be a pointer if the problem repeats.

I know now what the packages were, so this may help I hope. First question, went into update system, no updates available so I am up to date as of yesterday when it happened. Second question, Internet was working. Third question, went back into "Browse & configure hardware", no issues, this is actually the first time I have ever seen this error in any version of Mageia past or present. Next, the packages it asked for were "lsb-core-lib64" and "lsb-lib64", it said they needed to be installed, so I went with it. Download and installed just fine. The actual Hardware Browse worked fine, it did not get the crash until I exited out and then saw the crash window and report button pop up. (In reply to Michael Brown from comment #3) Thank you for all the clarification. > I know now what the packages were, so this may help I hope. > lsb-lib64-4.1-22.mga7.x86_64 Wed 02 Dec 2020 09:07:55 AM CST > lsb-core-lib64-4.1-22.mga7.x86_64 Wed 02 Dec 2020 09:07:55 AM CST > said they needed to be installed, so I went with it. So this happened when you quit MCC. Alas, we have several bugs on this. Closing it as a duplicate of 26944. > Third question, went back into "Browse & configure hardware", no issues, > this is actually the first time I have ever seen this error in any version > of Mageia past or present. I take you mean that since the one crash, it works correctly. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 26944 ***

This one is interesting because it is the first time it has been reported for Mageia 7, rather than cauldron. I'll comment further on bug 26944.
