because the cable connection is not there.
As a side remark: I tried as bug 26820 Comment 1
# ethtool -s enp8s0 autoneg off 
netlink error: link settings update failed
netlink error: Invalid argument
Duckduckgo told me this is expected behavior for a 1000base-T device.
So good to go.

IMPORTANT: this test has been done running the 5.7.19 desktop kernel. Should it be run against the 5.9 (as well???) to be conclusive??
