journalctl -b -1 output on affected system.

On MLO forums, several users reported systems hang with newest kernel-desktop image but 5.6 series linux kernel works fine on their hardware.

There is:
kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: GPU HANG: ecode 7:1:8edcfc79, in gnome-shell [2829]
kernel: GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
kernel: Please file a _new_ bug report at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/intel/issues/new.
kernel: Please see https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/intel/-/wikis/How-to-file-i915-bugs for details.
kernel: drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
kernel: The GPU crash dump is required to analyze GPU hangs, so please always attach it.
kernel: GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: Resetting chip for stopped heartbeat on rcs0
kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: gnome-shell[2829] context reset due to GPU hang

Assigning to Kernel and Drivers Maintainers.

My system is affected, too.

lspcidrake | grep VGA
Card:Intel 810 and later: Intel Corporation|Xeon E3-1200 v3 Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [DISPLAY_VGA] (rev: 06)

Seems there is a patch:

According to that issue thread several chips are affected, and also kernel 5.9 is affected and that patch fixed it for a 5.9 user.

Thus setting to cauldron despite no Mageia cauldron user reported it yet. - with mga7too of course.

Bug can be corrected in i915_debugfs.c by set critical section whith a mutex.
You could see that on kernel.org.

MGA7 is EOL since June 2021. Based on comment 5 the fix was introduced in kernel 5.9.x
