Hello, Sometimes, and for a reason that is very obscur to me, the wireless list appears suddenly empty, even when my wireless adaptater is turned on. Turning it on and off does not solve the issue. List would be filled again only after refreshing manually once the network has been established successfully. If it has failed, it may not. There is no way to reproduce it clearly in all cases. It seems quite random. See at 10:00 of the following screen video : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1946207/Bug_wireless/Weird_connection_no_info.ogv Thank you.
Precising the package version installed in my Mageia : drakx-net-0.97-1.mga1.noarch
Created attachment 781 [details] Screenshot showing the bug On the screenshot, the tool is apparently attempting to connect, but shows an empty wireless list (except the hotspot he's trying to connect).
Created attachment 782 [details] The messages log that appeared while this bug occured.

Bug is still there. This is not something new, it occurs since a very long time.
(In reply to comment #6) > Bug is still there. This is not something new, it occurs since a very long > time. I have it, too, but I don't care as long as it sees the access point I try to connect to, and as long as it doesn't hide any when trying to set up a new connection. So far those things didn't give any problems. Did it ever keep you from connecting?
Yes it did, sadly enough. I sometimes had to wait for five complete minutes without clicking on "Refresh" to update the list for seeing wireless hotspots again. It is worse when it is couples with Bug #2712 .
3-monthly ping
It still happens from time to time.

This message is a reminder that Mageia 2 is nearing its end of life. Approximately one month from now Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Mageia 2. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '2'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version prior to Mageia 2's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Mageia 2 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. -- The Mageia Bugsquad
Mageia 2 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on ''22 November''. Mageia 2 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia and reopen this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. -- The Mageia Bugsquad
