Host system:i5-2500, 16GB RAM, Intel graphics, wired Internet, 64-bit Plasma system.

Updated virtualbox and the kmods on the host. All packages installed cleanly.

Extension pack downloaded and installed/updated manually. Ran an XP guest and tried to use the gui "Insert guest additions" which, as expected, failed at the end of the download. Guest additions were inserted by downloading the iso from https://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/ and loading it into the virtual optical drive. Once the additions were installed, the XP guest operated normally.

Opened an existing Mageia 7 Plasma guest that had other updates pending, including a kernel, and updated those and the 6.0.18 guest additions in one operation. Rebooted to a working desktop, no issues noted.

Looks OK on this system.

Per bug Bug 18962, I install Oracle extension pack manually:

Went to
  http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/6.0.18
And fetched
  Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-6.0.18-136238.vbox-extpack 
And then
  $ sudo VBoxManage extpack install --replace that-extension-pack

From same folder also fetched
  VBoxGuestAdditions_6.0.18.iso  
And in virtualbox guest settings I selected that file for disk in the optical media.

Booted my existing MSW7p-64 guest.  Tests OK:
  Dynamically resizing guest window by mouse
  Shared clipboard, bidirectional
  Shared folders bidirectional copying
  USB2: flash stick and Brother label printer
  Sound, Internet, performance: playing video in Firefox while host is heavily loaded.
