Mageia 6, x86_64

Installed the packages and attempted to get a Cessna 172 started by following the manual, using keyboard and mouse. Gave that up as a bad job.

Updated the packages and went back to training at Honolulu National.
Note that running flightgear from the menus brought up a night-time scenario which meant that the cockpit was dark. Not enough light to find the switches.
Had to start it from the commandline:

$ fgfs --timeofday=morning

That worked fine. Starting the engine involves putting on the brakes (b) (there is no visual feedback), pressing '-' three times to use both magnetos, setting the mixture level to 30%, pulling back the throttle then pushing it forward slightly, and finally hitting spacebar to start it. That did not work for me but autostart did - the propeller started turning. Tried to release brake with b key and increase speed using the numeric keyboard between 3 and 9. Nothing happened but a passenger aircraft started taxiing up along a parallel runway. Abandoned the attempt.

However, it looks like the basics are all there so giving this an OK. There was a continuous stream of information in the terminal. A local user directory id created.
$ du -hs .fgfs
332M	.fgfs

Also checked the anaglyphic stereo mode - it works fine with red and blue glasses but reduces instrument visibility somewhat.
