Already in use on my workstation with a GTX1070
Comment 3 Len Lawrence 2018-07-17 18:57:56 CEST
System: Host: difda Kernel: 4.14.56-desktop-1.mga6 x86_64
Graphics: Card: NVIDIA GM204 [GeForce GTX 970]
           Display Server: Mageia X.org 119.5 drivers: nvidia,v4l
           Resolution: 3840x2160@30.00hz
           GLX Renderer: GeForce GTX 970/PCIe/SSE2
           GLX Version: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 390.77

Installed cleanly on this system. Rebooted to Maté desktop.
Applications like celestia and stellarium running fine in fullscreen mode.
GoogleEarth fuctions well in Google Chrome. Used vlc to play a video shared over the lan. It played smoothly at HD resolution and in fullscreen mode and after moving it to another workspace.
Tried glmark2. teapot runs at 1700 fps.

64 bit OK on my workstation: i7, Nvidia GTX750 (GM107) using proprietary driver GeForce 420 and later, including CUDA & OpenCL which are detected OK in BOINC, VirtualBox running MSW7, Plasma5.12 etc, video in Firefox.

System is updated to all updates in all updates_testing repos including kernel 4.14.56-1, installed cleanly, rebooted. As usual when updating driver, the plasma logout menu did not work directly after updating.

Tested successfully on Mageia 6 x86_64, Optimus laptop with discrete GTX 670MX. I use the discrete GPU as main GPU via mageia-prime.

Test done together with kernel + nonfree firmware.

description: |
This nvidia-current update provides the 390.77 driver from the
  R390 longterm branch.

  It provides the following fixes:
  * Fixed a bug that could cause kernel panics when using Quadro SDI Capture
    hardware.
  * Fixed a bug that caused kwin OpenGL compositing to crash when launching
    certain OpenGL applications.
  * Fixed an intermittent crash when launching Vulkan applications.
  * Fixed an intermittent crash when launching applications through Wine.
  * Fixed a bug that caused the driver, in some low bandwidth DisplayPort
configurations, to not implicitly enable display dithering. This
    resulted in visible banding.
  * Improved compatibility with recent Linux kernels.
  * Fixed an intermittent hang of Vulkan applications running fullscreen when
    flipping is allowed.
  * Removed informational messages that were printed by nvidia-modeset.ko
whenever a GPU device was allocated or freed.
  * Fixed a bug that caused kwin OpenGL compositing to crash when launching
    certain OpenGL applications.

This update also fixes Vulkan support by installing a proper Vulkan ICD
