Description Adrien D 2017-05-21 21:41:58 CEST
Hi

Description of problem:
At post-install with RC DVD, I add mirrors from Internet, but CDROM is already in sources, and if I want to install a software CCM ask me to introduce CDRom.
If I want to add Internet mirrors, I don't want use CDRom. Is it possible to disable the CDRom entries or add CDRom at the end of the file (to privilege Internet media) ?

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
6 RC

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Mageia 6.
2. Add mirrors at the end
3. Install a software which isn't in core Updates.

Why would you want to give priority to remote media over the DVD? All packages already on the DVD do not need to be downloaded again. So it's a waste of time to want to download them again.

Yeah but most users don't keep the DVD in their drive after installing. This option made a lot of sense when Internet connections were very slow/costly (they still are in parts of the world though), but nowadays for many of our users this is becoming very redundant.

I think it's fine to keep the DVD media enabled and first in the list, but they should be made non-blocking: if missing, urpmi should move on to the online Core Release and Nonfree Release. Currently, it will just refuse to install anything until the DVD is inserted or the DVD media are disabled.

It would be nice if urpmi would handle cdrom media like local media. I have no problems at all using online Core media, when /dev/sdc1 with my local mirror is not attached.

Summary: If we add mirrors, CDROM stays => When "CD-Rom media" are enabled, and online Core repositories have been added, the latter won't be used, not even when no "CD-Rom media" can be found.
