Clarification re M6 to date. Applies to all 3 Live ISOs: Gnome, Plasma, LXDE. Does *not* apply to Classic ISO, Lexmark pkgs are not installed. 4 applications are involved, all with individual menu entries: - Align heads - Clean heads - Inspect cartridges - Hide cartridges These all throw up a doubled terminal window; tiled for Gnome, Plasma; superimposed for XFCE. The host application 'Lexmark printer manager' is OK, and has buttons for the functions above. So the solution seems simply to *not have menu entries* for the offending things.
Summary: Lexmark headalign application shows terminal windows => Lexmark applications show terminal windows

So the solution seems simply to *not have menu entries* > for the offending things. The 'Lexmark printer manager' is a different application, and only claims to support a limited number of printer models. It seems fairly easy to fix these applications, although as I don't have a Lexmark printer, I can't test that they really work.
