I didn't, I just had read the source code.

basically, you take the file in /root/drakx/ generated after installation, that's a perl hash with all values of the previous installation already filled, and you hack until you have what you want. 

Reading drakx source code and some familiarity with the philosophy of drakx ( ie, 1 structure to hold everything ) is helping a lot.

do you mean these values are used in command line stuff like in the PXE automatic=?

or for kickstart files?

is there a way to generate some kind of "documentation" from the drakx? ie: getting the hashes and possible values itself? that in a way would already help alot.

no, i don't agree with wontfix.

misc's reply helped a lot for me, but i didn't get it working completely or as i thought it should be used.

i guess someone will just have to get into the code.

however, luckily, we have a feature for installer rework, so while i'm planning to spend some time on that, but not alone. it'd be nice to see how things work and make some kind of documentation from it.

so no. no closing this one. we'll keep this open and try to get things in order for mga3.
