Description of problem: Start with a working M6 x86_64 Plasma UI and updating platform. To that install Virtual Box, now at level 5.1.8-1. Install, or launch, a Vbox client using: Mageia-5-LiveDVD-GNOME-x86_64-DVD.iso Launch the client. I'll call it the "Windows key". Tapping the Windows key gets you both the Gnome launch panel and the underlying Plasma M6 Launch and task bar. Pretty neat. :-)) Simply clicking on the M6 Launch bar makes it go away and you can continue to use the Gnome launch icons as needed.
I don't understand this bug report, do you mind adding a screenshot?

In VirtualBox, M5, Gnome, 64-bit First before I get into this I have discovered a new feature/function of Plasma. Tapping the "Windows Key" on the keyboard launches the Plasma Application Launcher/Menu. Ths function is not included in M5 KDE nor in recent versions of Plasma. Or I have just missed it. I have attached an image of the location of the "Windows Key" on a standard keyboard. Test platform: M6 x86_64 Plasma running Vbox 5.1.8-1 This platform has both Plasma and Gnome installed

If your running Plasma it appears that anytime you hit the "Windows Key" the Plasma Application Launcher/Menu will appear. That includes if your running a Vbox client either in full screen or not full screen mode. I have attached two screen captures. The first image ( when_menues_clash_6_1.jpg ) shows what happens when you hit the Windows Key when a Vbox client ( Gnome M5 ) is full screen. The second image ( when_menues_clash_6_2.jpg ) shows what happens when the Vbox client is not full screen. IMO this is clearly an upstream feature/function/problem. Maybe it should be in the M6 errata.

Thanks for the additional information, William. So the issue isn't with Gnome, but either with VBox or with Plasma5. Assigning to the KDE maintainers and CC'ing tmb (virtualbox maintainer) Out of curiousness: what happens when Plasma5 is both host and guest?

(In reply to Marja van Waes from comment #8) > Out of curiousness: what happens when Plasma5 is both host and guest? Just added the two screen shots. Looks like the same situation. You get two for your money. The Launcher/Menu on top in the Full screen is the host Launch/Menu.
is it still valid on current cauldron ?
