I am a novice trying to do a screen recording. Someone said that I should do this using the H.264 video format. But Simple Screen Recorder shows that I have not installed that codec. I tried to install H.264 ( freeswitch H.264 ?? ) in RPMdragora, and the installation failed due to a conflict.
1 installation transactions failed There was a problem during the installation: file /usr/bin/fs_cli conflicts between attempted installs of freeswitch-1:1.4.20-1.mga6.x86_64 and freeswitch-cli-1:1.4.20-1.mga6.x86_64
If you're creating content, it'd be best if you didn't use patented codecs like H.264. I don't know why you're installing freeswitch though, that has nothing to do with what you're trying to do. Anyway, the freeswitch package certainly has its share of issues and this conflict is one of them.
Assignee: bugsquad => luis.daniel.lucioSummary: H.264 Codec does not install due to conflict => freeswitch conflict between main and cli package
What codec would you all recommend for doing a screen recording ? And does it work good on YouTube ? And is it already installed or in the repository ? I used Simple Screen Recorder, I think with mp4. I was about to give Kazam a try.

This bug report is about fixing the file conflict in the freeswitch package you reported, not about discussing any video codecs, please use your forum thread for that.
