MCC -> System -> Snapshots does indeed not work. When clicking "Apply" the only thing that happens in "journalctl -f" output, is that 5 lines are added with > draksnapshot-config[20713]: modified file /etc/rsnapshot.conf and one line with: > draksnapshot-config[20713]: removed files/directories /etc/cron.d/rsnapshot The same 6 lines are added every time "Apply" is pushed, but no backup is ever written. However, running "rsnapshot hourly" does do a backup, provided that *first* something like retain hourly 10 retain daily 7 retain weekly 4 retain monthly 12 is added to /etc/rsnapshot.conf, as explained in bug 17390 (so without spaces!) Doing that still doesn't help to get a backup when pushing "Apply" in MCC-Snapshots... Maybe our help file is simply wrong when it says: > Click on Apply to make the snapshot http://doc.mageia.org/mcc/5/en/content/draksnapshot-config.html @ Thierry Should clicking lead to an immediate backup, or should we change that into "Click on Apply to save your new configuration" and explain cron takes care of the rest? (Assigning to docteam. The tool is called "draksnapshot-config", so it seems most likely our documentation is wrong.... please reassign if the documentation is correct, after all)
