Description Dave Hodgins 2011-06-22 22:52:34 CEST
Description of problem:
Running urpme to remove an older kernel results in ...
removing package kernel-server-devel-2.6.38.7-1.mga-1-1.mga1.i586
/usr/bin/perl: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libldetect.so.0.11: undefined symbol: read_toplevel_config

As a result, the stanza in /boot/grub/menu.lst is not removed, even though
the package does get removed.

Comment 1 Thierry Vignaud 2011-06-23 07:24:54 CEST
Don't update to  updates_testing/libmodprobe0-*

Revert to release/lib64modprobe0-*
This is why major has been bumped.
I've asked updates_testing/lib64modprobe0-* to be removed
It's not compatible with ldetect which I'm porting to new modprobe API.

Status: NEW => RESOLVED
Resolution: (none) => WONTFIX

Comment 2 Radu Cristian Fotescu 2011-06-24 19:47:37 CEST
Just to let you know that this update breaks net_applet too.

So libmodprobe0-3.16-0.1.mga2 is broken, reverting to libmodprobe0-3.6-17.mga1 fixes things.

Thierry: if major has been bumped, why didn't the package name (libmodprobe0) change accordingly ?
