Candidate Advisory :

In mageia 1 calibre wasn't able to start.
We provide this update that fix this issue.
Comment 9 Ahmad Samir 2011-07-01 01:44:08 CEST
This bug report was initially about calibre failing to launch in cauldron; most likely it needed a rebuild for new python-qt4 in cauldron.

calibre-0.7.32-3.mga1 in mga1 core/release isn't affected by this particular issue since python-qt4 wasn't updated in mga1, and it starts correctly.
Comment 10 Dave Hodgins 2011-07-01 03:58:51 CEST
My suggestion is
Update to newer version.

If people want someone from sysadmin team to react, maybe the team should be in CC ?
We do not read every possible bug reports to see if by chance, someone need our help.

The current calibre version is 0.8.14.

What you will never understand is that calibre, by its nature, it's meant to be used in its latest version, even in a fixed-release (i.e. not rolling) distro, because it's extremely dynamic and it's hard to say that one release is more stable and less buggy than another one.

Users of Cauldron can find the latest calibre in my unofficial repo that I will not advertise here.

Our script shows a link is required for this to resolve possible upgrade problems.

Could sysadmin please link fonts-ttf-liberation from core/release to core/updates to work around bug 2317.

Thanks.
